March-NETinDepth.NET in Depth - March
.NET in Depth March April May June July August September October November December
Wow! 24 people showed up!
We got started talking about - types: 15 predefined and 6 user-defined - talked a bit about memory (stacks and heaps)
Here's the Word doc (should cover March and April's content)
Next month we'll finish up types by focusing on the 6 user-defined ones: -class - struct (see Struct In-Depth) - array - num - delegate (see Delegate In-Depth) - interface
...which should segue nicely into inheritance and interfaces.
Seeing that the conversation "went off the deep end" and got into the stack, heap and garbage collection, here is a Microsoft tool for studying how your application handles memory. It's helpful for studying garbage collection, use of IDispose and more. MSDN TV video (and transcript) on a use of the profiler If you search on "CLR Profiler" you can find other MSDN TV videos, CLR for the 1.1 framework, and more.
