LINQ-January-2009LINQ - Language INtegrated Query for .NET 3.5 Seventh meeting, Monday, January 26, 6:00 pm, at Compuware in Durham
Note the change of date! Since November and December meetings were cancelled, we'll pick up with November content and keep going!
In January, we'll finish up with CRUD in LINQ to SQL, focusing on n-tier issues and transactions. We'll examine issues around using LINQ to do joins that combine object collections with database tables. As time permits, we'll also look at ASP.NET Dynamic Data using LINQ to SQL, and running business logic from the generated classes.
In February, we'll start on the Entity Framework. The first session on EF will focus on getting up and running - generating your data classes, running queries with LINQ and Entity SQL, and differences between EF and LINQ to SQL. In March, we'll pick up the EF Visual Designer, and learn how to make effective use of its capabilities.
Sample code is here.
Also, I've been running performance tests. That code is available here, and we'll talk about this at our meeting if we have time. |
